This hands-on counting set supports the development of early math skills through concrete, structured activities. Using wooden spheres, number tokens, and math symbols, children explore quantity, number recognition, and simple operations in a clear and visual way.

The recessed counting boards allow children to physically place each sphere into a defined space, reinforcing one-to-one correspondence and helping them understand that every number represents a specific quantity. With number and symbol tokens, the material extends naturally into early equation building. The included tweezers add an additional layer of fine motor development and concentration.

Activities

One-to-One Correspondence

The child selects a number token and places the corresponding number of spheres into the board, reinforcing the connection between numeral and quantity.

Number Matching

Children match number tokens to quantities already placed on the board, strengthening number recognition and visual discrimination.

Early Equation Building

Using number and symbol tokens, children create and solve simple addition and subtraction problems with the spheres as concrete counters.
