Cogwheel Game – Montessori-Inspired Gear Work

Placing the colorful wooden cogwheels on the board is just the beginning. Children explore how gears connect, observe cause and effect, and adjust the pieces until every wheel begins to move smoothly.

Young learners love experimenting with different combinations. They try, correct, and try again, staying focused until they see the full chain reaction. This hands-on work naturally supports concentration, coordination of movement, and logical thinking.

The included pattern cards offer guided challenges, but children are also free to design their own layouts and test them, refining their idea until all gears run together in harmony.

This gears set can be played on its own or as a great addition to the Tactile Cubes, Reflector Cubes, or Construction Tower. Both the large and small gears fit into the holes of the panels. Little engineers will discover how the gears interact when the handles are turned.
