This wooden Montessori box features five holes of different diameters on the top surface. Beneath the holes, there is a flat sliding plate that temporarily holds the cylinders in place. Inside the box is a slanted ramp.
The child places the five wooden cylinders (same height, different diameters) into the corresponding holes — but they don’t fall through immediately. The sliding plate underneath prevents them from dropping.
Once all the cylinders are in place, the child pulls the plate, and the cylinders suddenly fall through the holes and roll down the internal ramp into the box.
This creates a fun and engaging surprise and encourages repetition.
