Flower Arranging Activity 

This beautifully prepared Montessori Activity – includes all the tools a child needs to practice flower arranging while developing fine motor skills, concentration, and a sense of order.

The set contains:

* Tray to organize all materials

* 3 assorted vases 

* Glass pitcher for pouring water

* Clear bowl for discarded leaves or stems

* Child-sized scissors

* Small funnel for easy water transfer

* 3 Decorative paper doilies

* Sponge for drying spills

* Small towel with a floral print

* A decorative vinyl table mat

* Child-sized apron

Presentation:

Bring tray to table. Lay out mat, scissors, bowl, and sponge. Carry tray to supply and select vase and dried flowers. At the table, place vase in centre of mat, flowers to left, tray above. Arrange flowers into vase, cut stem if necessary, place debris into bowl. Take a doily, place arrangement in the environment.

Wipe blades of scissors with sponge if necessary. Empty bowl with debris and wipe with towel. Rinse out sponge. Replace materials on tray. Wipe mat with utility sponge. Place mat on/under the tray. Fold apron.

Use fresh flowers. Use water pitcher with warm water to fill vase. Remove any leaves which are below the water surface. Whenever possible take children out to cut (wild) flowers.
